Fish and Chips Shop - Canada Kitchen (Tsuyazaki)

Need some kind of incentive to go pottering

According to the TV broadcast, there's a fish and chips shop somewhere in Tsuyazaki.

To and from Tsuyazaki will be a 60+km round trip
Better use the 20inch mini-velo Bianchi "Lepre"

Lepre means "rabbit" in Italian.
Tsuyazaki's Namiori Shrine has a stone statue of a surfing rabbit

Drunken Fuyo (cotton rose) is still pure white - in the late afternoon changed into red pink just like drunken.

Want to come back while it's still white!

Via the bicycle path along the Shioiri River
Pass in front of "Budo-no-Ki"

From Hatsu, take the Hibikinada Bicycle Road
Proceeding to Munakata Michi-no-Eki via Kanezaki

I don't have enough sensibility to understand a work of art

Follow the road with a few cars to Tsuyazaki Sengen (which prospered with hundreds of buildings)

Ordered a fish-and-chips set in regular size
Can't wait!

In Perth, used to eat it with white wine vinegar.

Take it in the garden

Nice smell~~~!
Squeeze a lemon...

Crispy deep-fried batter - beer plays an important role in it.

Start eating with a sort of nostalgic feeling.

After his talks with his young English-speaking guy, the owner spoke to me in Japanese.

While answering, inadvertently responded in English, thereafter our talks switched to English mode

The owner came from Canada, got married to a Japanese wife, and has been living in Japan for over 30 years teaching English conversation at home.

Two and a half years ago, installed their own kitchen car in front of their house
His wife is in charge of fish and chips and sweet churros.

It was just at the same time as the start of the corona crisis, but their friends encouraged them saying that they were rather lucky because the demand for takeout would increase.

Started chat after a brief self-introduction each.

He referred to his Japanese name "Tora-chan" - since his name Travis is unfamiliar to Japanese people.

This is also a similar background to my English name "Tom".

My surname starts with the sound of "tsu", which is not found in English pronunciation, so to the Australian staff hard to pronounce properly as in Japanese.

When I asked them "what popular name starts from "T", instantly said "Tom", and that's why I am called Tom.

Calling each other Tora-chan, and Tom, really enjoyed interesting and lively conversation

The English student came to see him, so we ended the talks.

He offered to bring churros home as a souvenir

Enjoyed eating fish and chips, drinking ginger ale

Strange enough my brain seemingly switched to English mode when called Tom.

His wife asked me among 4 flavors of churros, which one?

Cinnamon, please!

Received hot churros! Thankyou!

On the way home, followed a different route with few cars.

On the way back, found persimmons and sweet potatoes sold on the side of the road.

Bought some and put them in an eco-friendly bag and tied them to the handle.

Sitting on a bench on the seaside promenade in Satsuki Matsubara, took a short break while listening to the sound of the waves.

Came back via the Hibikinada cycle path

Drunken Fuyou  was still white
